Energy vampires or psychic vampires: my thoughts and memories Part I

Introduction
I first encountered the terms ‘energy vampire’ and ‘psychic vampire’ in books many years ago. I soon realised that I had been a victim of such people for my entire life. Giving a name to a problem is the first step towards solving it.

Since then, I have read a lot of material about energy or psychic vampires and found much of it familiar, relevant and helpful.  I now want to add my own contribution to the available body of information by supplying some details of my personal involvement with these people. My first hand, excruciatingly painful, experiences enable me to confirm much that has been written on this subject. Energy vampires are indeed a major unseen influence on many people’s lives.

What are energy vampires and psychic vampires?
These terms are often used interchangeably. Energy vampires are also known as suckers, sponges and leeches.

Energy vampires can be thought of as people who have lost contact with their real selves; they have no inner source of vital energy so they are forced to look elsewhere for their supplies.

Most of us are issued at birth with an internal energy support system, but energy vampires for one reason or another have forfeited their legal right to this allowance or become disconnected from it so need to find illegitimate sources of food and fuel outside themselves. They survive by draining the people around them.

Note that this is not connected with the fact that introverts can feel drained, and extroverts energised, by interacting with many people. Extroverts often wilt when they are alone, whereas introverts enjoy solitude because it offers a chance to recharge. This is perfectly normal, and is merely a sign of under and over stimulation.

Many energy vampires siphon off people’s vital energy just to keep going and maintain their front or image; others do it for more sinister reasons such as raising the power to get something that they want.

Becoming an energy vampire can be an unfortunate side-effect or result of illness, age, ill treatment by others and psychosis and other forms of mental disturbance. Some creative people and celebrities may well become vampires too.

Aryan supremacy: blond hair and blue eyes versus black hair and brown eyes

The idea that people from the Nordic race are superior to those from other races was of enormous importance to Adolf Hitler and the Nazis. Their ideology stated that the best kinds of human beings were white skinned with blue eyes and blond hair, which meant that races such as the Negroid, Slavic and Mediterranean and people with black hair and brown eyes were necessarily inferior.

These ideas affected people whose lives are of interest to me.

When I first read a biography of Louisa May Alcott, I learned that her father was what we would now call an Aryan supremacist. Bronson Alcott was tall, and he had blond hair and blue eyes. He said that such people were superior to dark-haired people with black hair and brown eyes. Louisa resembled her mother, who could have passed for Spanish or Italian.

Bronson Alcott thought that his colouring indicated associations with the light and good, angelic forces; this implied that Louisa and her mother were not only inferior, but also dark, evil and demonic. When Louisa brought home a young man with fair colouring, Bronson said, “Sir, you are a child of light”. Why was this issue so important to him? What effect did his views have on Louisa and her mother?

Is it just a coincidence that Louisa was born in Germantown, Philadelphia? This reminds me of the connection between the Mitford family, Unity Valkyrie and her Aryan supremacist grandfather Bertie in particular, and Swastika, Ontario.

Alcotts and Brontës and psychic crime

When I first read some biographies of the Brontë and the Alcott families, I immediately noticed some connections and common patterns. Some of these features are also present in and relevant to my own family. There are large numbers of scholarly, well researched and comprehensive books and articles about these families of interest and many analyses of their literary works, but they do not cover the aspects that I am most interested in.

I always look out for possible examples of psychic crime or psychological black magic when researching the lives and works of people whose experiences and outlook on life have much in common with my own. I also look out for coincidences; for example, both Louisa May Alcott's father Bronson and Charlotte Brontë's father Patrick as young men slightly changed their last names to make them more 'up-market'.

Louisa May Alcott was born on the same day as her father; she died a few days after he did, which could indicate some kind of psychic stranglehold.

There was a lot of elevated and progressive ideology in the family, and Louisa bought the idea that the Alcotts were a breed apart. Her father opted out of supporting the family and Louisa was the sacrificial victim who was made to feel responsible for earning enough to support the lot of them.

She disapproved when one of her sisters married a very ordinary man, who died a few years later - on the joint birthday.

If marrying into the elite Alcott family was not acceptable, neither was escaping. Her youngest sister travelled around Europe, then wrote to say that she had married and would not be coming back to the US. Her letters described the luxuries that she now had. She died some months later in Paris.

Mind control, brainwashing and psychological torture: an introduction

When I first started to read about the standard brainwashing and torture techniques that are used to influence, control and break people such as political prisoners, some of it sounded uncannily familiar. I thought immediately of what went on in my family; I was also reminded of the experiences of the young Jane Eyre, some of which were based on what actually happened to several of the Brontë sisters.

It is frightening to realise that some parents and other people in control of children apply these techniques instinctively.

It is devastating to read of such practices as isolating the victims, keeping them in a constant state of fear and uncertainty, keeping them torn between fight or flight and unable to do either, deprivation of food and sleep, constant humiliation, false accusations, making demands that are impossible to meet, random unfair and unjustified punishments, force feeding with political or religious ideology and mock executions and then to realise that they have been systematically applied to children, often in adapted and modified forms.

For example, where prisoners live in permanent fear of death and are forced to undergo mock executions, a child might live in permanent fear of being put in a children’s home and be forced to listen to frequent threats of abandonment or being sent away. I certainly was. Like the mock executions, these threats are never actually carried out, but on each occasion it seems that they will be.

Unseen crimes: an introduction

It is now quite common to hear people use expressions such as 'dysfunctional family' and 'control freak'. Energy vampires (people not appliances) are following the same path towards general recognition: there is a lot of useful information about them available in books and online.

It is now the turn of unseen crimes to go public. These are not crimes in the legal sense; they are committed by people who operate from another dimension in such a way that their activities cannot be detected or linked to the perpetrator.

Such crimes are the hidden cause of some runs of bad luck; they may be behind misfortunes, accidents, injuries, illnesses and even deaths. The perpetrators are usually completely unaware of what they are doing and how it affects people: they never make the connection between what has been going on in their minds and what is happening to people around them.

Someone who did such things deliberately would be considered to be practising black magic; the people who do it unconsciously can be said to be performing psychological black magic, psychic crime or mind-power crime. The motives vary: for example, it can be done in revenge, as a punishment, in self-defence, in an attempt to influence the victim or as a pretext to approach someone.

Energy vampires: an introduction to the subject

I find it very amusing that when I search online for information about ‘energy vampires’, I find articles about electrical appliances on standby.

Here, I am referring to people who have a detrimental effect on others because they drain them of their vital energy.  Alternative descriptions are psychic vampires and sappers.

These people are like black holes, sucking and draining all the life out of the atmosphere and the people around them. They are all take and no give. They are a major adverse unseen influence and can ruin people’s lives. The worst cases can be carriers of evil the way that people used to be carriers for typhoid fever.

Being drained in this way can have serious, long-term effects on the victims.

One result can be a kind of 'psychic AIDS' or 'emotional haemophilia' that destroys their resistance, their emotional strength and their ability to cope with the demands and responsibilities of life. Energy vampirism makes them weak and debilitated and affects their nervous systems; it surrounds them with an atmosphere that sabotages their lives by attracting trouble, unpleasant people, bad luck and negative experiences.

An even worse aspect is that someone who is attacked by a vampire may end up turning into one.

Unseen forces can affect our lives

Unseen Influences by Dick Sutphen (1982) is a good introduction to the idea that we can be adversely affected by many subtle influences without our knowledge. A few, very diverse, examples of such influences are: positive ions, refined sugar, concentrated hidden hostility and people who are energy vampires. I think that there must still be many people who would benefit from reading this book: just becoming aware of the possibility that these forces exist can raise our resistance to them. Forewarned is forearmed, and knowledge is certainly power in this case.

Environmental and dietary factors that affect our health have been written about by many people. Energy vampires, negative people who unconsciously sabotage the lives of people around them and similar topics have also been extensively covered. I have some ideas and information, coincidences and connections of my own that I would like to share with anyone who might be interested.

Some people who are being badly affected by certain unseen influences may not even know what they are up against never mind how to deal with it, and I would like to help them. I have survived many attacks by energy vampires and been affected by many unseen influences. Writing about my experiences helps to distance me from them; collecting background information has helped to put them into context and perspective and highlight recurring patterns. I am now posting my findings, in a series of articles, in the hope that other people will find them useful.

Unconscious sabotage
Here are some examples of unconscious sabotage to get things going.

Many years ago, I found a very good new job. I did not tell anyone in my family about this, which speaks for itself. However, 'by coincidence’ a dreadful letter from one of my sisters arrived in the post early in the morning of the day that I was due to start. I very stupidly opened the letter before I left for work; it knocked the stuffing out of me, thus ensuring that I went through my first day feeling that I had been hit by a truck just when I obviously needed to be very alert and make a good impression.

Unseen Influences blog: background and purpose

This page provides an introduction to the Unseen Influences blog.

History and background
For much of my life I struggled under a huge load of unfinished business, both family and personal, and was very handicapped because I was being eaten alive by the energy vampires in my family; I did not realise this for many years as I had never known that there was any other way to be.

Things improved when I found help in the form of books. There was a publishing explosion of books on metaphysical subjects towards the end of the last century, and when I eventually encountered them I found information that was relevant and useful; it helped me to understand what had been going on in my family.

I had many light bulb moments and started seeing patterns and making connections.  After reading many biographies, I realised that similar unseen influences had been operating in families other than my own. These families often produced creative artists: female writers in particular.

I made a lot of notes, and sent some of the material with my conclusions to a family member in the form of letters. This was after a last straw moment. Apart from saying, “You have given me a lot to think about” she made no use of the information.

I mentioned some coincidences and discoveries to a few colleagues, who with one or two exceptions were not very interested. In any case, I was mainly gathering information for my own benefit.

My life improved enormously for a few years: I used my new knowledge and understanding to turn everything around. I experienced a lot of good luck rather than bad, and beneficial rather than harmful coincidences and synchronicity. I naively thought that the worst was behind me, but actually it was still to come. Perhaps escape is not that easy.

I was hit very hard by some years of unemployment, an unwise involvement with an organisation that I was horrified to discover was very different from what it professed to be and a devastating personal disaster that completely derailed me.

I was right back in square one: it was as if the good years had never happened. Life became one long fight for survival again: I could not live on coincidences and interesting information.

In paranoid moments I wondered whether all these problems had been set up to distract me from my investigations, or even as a punishment for speaking out for the first time ever about such things as energy vampires and for saying that enough was enough where my family was concerned. That is certainly what some conspiracy theorists would believe.

Another possibility is that the handful of good years was the reward for or result of my investigations and inner work to date, and I would not get any more until I had earned it. Perhaps the good years were arranged to give me a taste of what was to come if I could only survive the impending disasters.

I eventually resumed my investigations after finding work in a different field. I analysed the events of the interim years and looked for the usual patterns, connections and unseen influences. My life improved to a certain extent, and I attribute much of the credit for that to the approach that I took in trying to come to terms with what had been happening.

I was also very fortunate in that some of my new colleagues behaved as if they had been given orders to look after my work-related interests at a time when I could not do this for myself; they helped to get me going again.

This time around, I was able to make use of the Internet for research. After some years of this, I found Anna Valerious’s blog Narcissists Suck -  just after she had decided to concentrate on other things. It inspired me: I suddenly had the idea of doing something similar. I still had copies of the original letters, and in the intervening years I had made extensive notes from books while sucking the juice out of them before passing them on to charity shops.

I decided to go ahead; I would create a blog, overhaul my material and put it out there.

Dick Sutphen’s book Unseen Influences (1982) was the inspiration for the title of this blog. I decided to do it under the name of Unseen Influencer. I am not trying to promote myself or be a front for a business, and being anonymous makes it easier for me to speak freely.

Purpose of this blog
I have created this blog in the hope that some people will find the material interesting, informative and useful and my speculations illuminating. It might add an extra dimension to the interpretation of the events of their lives. I want to be part of the ripple effect. I want to help more people whose lives have been blighted by unseen influences to realise that they are not alone, and that something can be done to improve their lives.

Sources of the material
The raw material comes from my memories, my research and my notes; I have mediated it through my own opinions, deductions and ideas. I have first-hand experience of how unseen influences can operate, and I have augmented this with material gleaned from a large number of books. I have tried to give credit where it is due: I have mentioned the books’ and authors’ names where I remember them. I sometimes need to rely on vague memories of books that I read and gave away decades ago: as this is a blog and not an academic document, complete accuracy is not essential.

I am sure that some people from previous centuries would be horrified by the way in which they and their lives have been written and speculated about, but this can’t hurt them now and their stories may help other people to put their lives into context.

I have given some examples of unseen influences operating in the lives of people around me: this is usually in connection with events that occurred many years ago, and it is extremely unlikely that any of them would ever read this blog. I have withheld many of the best examples as unfortunately personal information is an essential part of the stories.

Comments policy

After looking at other blogs and reading about other bloggers’ experiences, I decided not to accept comments. I am not intending to host a forum or a discussion group, nor do I hope to build a community. I want this blog to consist of just my own material, and I would rather spend my time on producing more articles than on moderating comments.  I can be reached at unseeninfluences'atsign'gmail.com, and will consider posting and discussing suitable comments received via this route.
